Shifting Inheritance
The videos are presented on three synchronized screens, two equal size screens side by side and a smaller one underneath. Sound pans between the speakers, pulling the viewers’ attention
from screen to screen.
"At night I would see
a crocodile wandering
on the wall of our house.
Whenever I wanted to get out of
the door, leave, the crocodile
rushed over the wall to the
door and I was too afraid to
go out."
The two upper screens show images from two countries, while the
lower one shows maps from different eras and features text, in Arabic,
English and Norwegian, taken from interviews about the nightmares
and memories of different generations of exiles.
