Speaking Signs
The nine photographs are collected into three groups. Each
group of light-boxes has its own sound piece which is triggered by
sensors when viewers come close enough to view the photographs
in detail.
The light boxes themselves function as speakers. The sound pieces are poetic texts spoken in English and Arabic. The sensors cut and edit the text being read as they start and stop, depending on the movement of the visitors.
